Photographing a birth is one of my absolute favorite things to photograph. I love so many of the families I work with and this one is at the very top of the list. From the pregnancy of their first child to anticipating the arrival of their second baby, it is truly an honor to watch and capture this growing family. As a three time c-section mom myself, I have such a strong connection to being there as a part of other c-sections. When I gave birth to my first baby, all we had to bring into the operating room was a single disposable camera that produced less than amazing photos although they are still some of the most cherished things I hold onto. Birth photography didn’t exist at that time. To be able to capture a first breath, first cry, first time you touch your baby is something I will never take for granted.
